Week8blog

This week we learned about TPACK and SAMR. I had not heard of either so I did a bit of research online. The TPACK framework is used not just for education but also business. The acronym TPACK stands for Technology, Pedagogy, Content, and Knowledge. It helps integrate technology into learning. The SAMR acronym means Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition. This model is also used to infuse digital learning experiences utilizing technology. Both are useful in the classroom. I particularly like the TPACK more than SAMR. I think the model for TPACK is easy to use and can be utilized in my future class easily. Also this week I was at my assigned school doing my observation. I have a great teacher and the best students. I was able to do some multiplication drills today with a couple of students. I found the card game we were playing to be fun and engaging. I've had to break up my clinical time this week into several intervals so today they were teaching math. Upon leaving today each student took a small baby cabbage plant home that they will care for at home. The students will keep a journal on the plants progress and record data such as size, color, and condition. They are doing this as part of their class life science project. I found it to be a great idea. Today the class also voted on which theatrical fable we will be doing in class for my Fine Arts lesson. They chose "The Fox and the Gulls." I mentioned this because I will also do my monologue as Fox. How's that for a visual. I've set a goal for myself this week to attempt to get my unit plan finished. I'm working really hard on new ideas to help my students learn. I hope to also finish my flipped lesson as well. We are almost at the halfway mark ladies and gentlemen.
